Two new Royal Enfields

Royal Enfield has launched two new variants of the Bullet Classic, the Classic Chrome and Classic Desert Storm. Both these bikes were showcased at a press even in Mumbai and are open for bookings at a dealer near you.

Obviously the ‘bling of the hill’ Classic Chrome is dipped from head to toe in chrome. While that may appeal to some of you superheroes out there, it was admittedly a tad flashy for our TopGear sensibility so we decided to focus all our drooling energies on the Classic Desert Strom which was finished in a matte greenish-beige colour.

The engine is exactly the same as the one found in Classic 500 and makes 27bhp and 41Nm of torque. This will surely disappoint people looking for some sort of power jump in these variants. The Chrome will cost 1.62 lakhs and Desert Strom will cost Rs 1.58 lakhs both on-road Mumbai.

If you have been looking at Royal Enfield’s international product portfolio and wondering when they will launch the ‘Battle Green’ colour in India, we got some bad news for you. The colour won’t be available in India, as it can only be worn by Indian Army vehicles and Enfield did not get permission to paint the Classic in that colour for civilian use. The good news is that if you squint a bit while looking at the Desert Storm, it almost matches that colour... doesn't it?
