SsangYong entered with third generation Rexton in Indian
market when it was launched by Mahindra & Mahindra.. The Rexton SUV is priced at
Rs 17.67 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) for manual transmission (RX5 version) and Rs
19.67 lakh for automatic transmission (RX7) and is designed and developed by
SsangYong in Korea, the sports utility vehicle (SUV) is the third generation
Rexton.
The Rexton is the first product from the
SsangYong product portfolio to be launched in India after Mahindra acquired
that Korean company .
It is
the fourth largest South Korea based automobile manufacturer.The name SsangYong means
double dragons.A 70% share of SsangYong was acquired by Indian Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, in
February 2011, after being named the
preferred bidder in 2010 to acquire the bankruptcy-protected company.
In August 2010, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited
was chosen as the preferred bidder for SsangYong. The acquisition was
completed in February 2011 and cost Mahindra 522.5
Billion Won.
Under the hood there is 2.0-litre
diesel engine that has replaced the previous 2.7-litre unit. It develops 156PS of power and 360Nm of torque.
SsangYong will offer two gearbox options on the Rexton W in India, a five-speed
manual and five-speed automatic gearbox.
the third generation Rexton come with new front end with a new bonnet, bumper, grille,
side aprons, headlights, fog lamps and indicators on the outside rear-view
mirrors. At the back, a new bumper and new taillights complete the face-lift.

from front the grill of rexton has inspired from Daimler-Benz who
where the old partner of SsangYong. Overall it is perfect fully loaded massive SUV .
