Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6X6

Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6X6……The Real Big Monster.

The G63 AMG 6x6 has made for those , who liked to be traveled every terrain with their own ride by creating their own roads. It is in its element off the beaten track. Its business is overcoming the challenges that the natural world and different weather conditions across the globe pose for its driver. The near production-standard Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6X6 show car is uncompromising. It is the most effortlessly superior and extravagant off-roader ever to be developed and built by engineers. Its performance and equipment are in a league of their own: with 400 kW of power, six driven wheels, off-road five differentials which can be locked while on the move and a tyre pressure control system that operates at world-record speed, the G 63 AMG 6X6 is made to meet all the topographic and meteorological challenges which have stopped other vehicles in their tracks to date. And the exclusively appointed interior guarantees the very best in high-class comfort for the driver and guests, whatever the rigours encountered in tough off-road terrain.

The G 63 6X6, stretched to accommodate a pickup bed and six wheels drive, all of which are driven by the awesome direct-injected, 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 that resides under the hood. Just as in the same-old, four-wheeled G63 AMG, which retails for $135,205, the 6x6 makes 544 horsepower and generates 560 lb-ft of torque. Its mill is mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission, and it manages to move the four-ton-plus behemoth with considerable authority. AMG claims that it takes 0 - 100 Kmph in around seven seconds, and the truck can touch 160 Kmph. Forty percent of the torque is sent to the middle axle, while the front- and the rear axle each receive 30 percent. The tire pressure can even be adjusted with a built-in air compressor, which is useful when driving on different terrains.
The G63 AMG 6x6 is derived from a special edition of the G-wagen developed for the Australian armed forces, but unlike that purposeful vehicle, the concept is fully equipped with every conceivable luxury option. The center console is fitted with carbon fiber in a feeble effort to counter the 6x6's excessive weight, and the seats and door trim are finished in diamond-quilted leather.
 NO COMPROMISES.
The G 63 AMG 6X6, a small series of which is expected to go into production at the end of the year, combines the best of three worlds: Mercedes-Benz's more than 30 years of off-road experience and the G-Class series production models ensure effortless poise and balance for this vehicle which is without parallel in the off-road scene. The vehicle's absolute robustness, functionality and outstanding off-road capabilities derive from the G-Class models. And the renowned luxury and high-performance division, Mercedes-AMG, is responsible for the engine technology and the luxurious and comfortable interior.

ASSUREDLY ON TOP OF THINGS.

The G 63 AMG 6X6 keeps a cool head in the desert and equally stays ship-shape when the floodgates open, making driving through such extreme terrain a sheer delight. However tough the going gets, it will always find a way through. The voluminous tyres on the three axles, the vast ground clearance, the overall height of almost 2.30 metres combined with a width of a good 2.10 metres and the clear, straight-lined design command respect. Despite its imposing appearance and its total weight of 3.85 tonnes, however, the pickup boasts awesome driving dynamics and almost catapult-like acceleration. It knows nature's challenges – and it knows how to see them off. The show car takes even the highest sand dunes in its stride. And its unerring directional stability sees it cope effortlessly with desert tracks, too. It clambers over rocky terrain
with astounding agility, while an impressive fording depth of one metre ensures that it is anything but water-shy.

Subaru WRX

The Sexiest Subaru’s  Concept is here… The WRX

Subaru has known for its boxer engine and popular all wheel drive drive-train layout in the world. When we think about Subaru , a picture of sporty fully loaded  huge rear wing and giant hood scoop, and on-road/off-road capabilities ensuring you feel like rally champ Petter Solberg is create in our mind.
The current WRX bears signs of age, and a give a face-lifted version is expected soon. At  New York auto show, Subaru gave us a glimpse into the future look of the WRX. And it’s absolutely dazzling.
Holding true to its roots, the enormous hood vent remains, but rather than protruding out of the hood glaringly, it now sits snug and aerodynamically within. The roof comprises of carbon fiber to reduce weight and lower the center of gravity. The inimitable, gaping WRX grille increases in size and presence, and the rear end oozes aggression mixed with a hint of love from the Subaru BRZ. Fluorescent yellow brake calipers ensure the wheels pop and that luminous glow accentuates the melon-sized quad tailpipes.
Some parts of the design will not make production, namely the tiny wing mirrors, “made-for-show” headlights and (likely) the carbon-fiber roof. But despite a few minor details, I see no reason why the next WRX won’t appear close.
We have no word yet on any engine details, other than it will be turbocharged, and the the interior remains a mystery. The concept sports BBS “RI-D” one-piece forged Duralumin wheels and 245/40ZR20 Dunlop tires. It also boasts a lower, sleeker and wider stance; surely producing improved aerodynamic efficiency.

Mercedes Benz 540K

THE 12 MILLION DOLLAR BABY......

Mercedes-Benz 540k breaks two auctioning world records.
The 1936 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster, set a record for any Mercedes-Benz ever sold at auction.
On the evening of 19th August 2012, the auction house at California's Pebble Beach is silent for two long seconds – Then the sound of the gavel followed by the call 'Sooooold'. Thunderous applause fills the auction house and the auctioneer, Chris Ross, also claps proudly and in relief. With the option of the Mercedes-Benz 540 K Special Roadster, the British auctioneer has set two world records. Firstly, he achieves the highest amount paid for Mercedes-Benz at an auction in 2012. At the same time, the car thus becomes the most expensive pre-war vehicle ever sold at an auction. The price: 11,770,000 US dollars.
"I have never seen so many people at an auction. I wonder whether I will ever sell another vehicle as beautiful as the 540 K Special Roadster again?"
40 YEARS OF BEAUTY SLEEP.
The 500 series replaces the 380 series in 1934. Customers demand more powerful engines and thus between 1936 and 1937 only 25 of the elegant two-seater are constructed. One of these is purchased by the Prussian Baroness, Gisela Josephine von Krieger, for 28,000 Reich marks, which would amount to approximately 115,000 Euros today. In 1942 she first moves the luxury car to Switzerland, bringing it into safety from the Nazis. The Hitler regime intends to prevent the Prussian nobility from leaving the country with all of its millions. When she goes to New York a number of years later, her 540 K accompanies her across the Atlantic. The Baroness dies in Europe in 1989. However, the car remains in the United States, stored in a garage in Greenwich, Connecticut. Forgotten for 40 years.
AS THOUGH REBORN.
The series celebrates its premiere in March 1934 in Berlin as the "Type 500 with compressor". In October a more luxurious version of the car appeares. In the beginning of October 1936 the 540 K with an enhanced 5.4 L compressor engine is presented at the Pariser-Salon. One year later it is followed by the 540 K Special Roadster. For von Krieger's Special Roadster, its beauty sleep comes to an end in 1990. The doors are opened and the Mercedes-Benz 540 K stands exactly as it had been parked in 1950: With roadmaps in the side pockets and carefully folded gloves, cigarette butts with lipstick marks in the ashtray. An unexpected time capsule which wonderfully preserves the spirit of its era. However, the vehicle itself remains just as well preserved.
The 40 year grace period allows it to retain its original condition in the present. After only a few weeks of restoration work, the exceptional vehicle essentially celebrates its second birthday.
KEEPING THE QUALITY PROMISE.
Those vehicle parts which feel the ravages of time are replaced with original spare parts, maintaining the same standard of quality - more than 70 years after production. A quality standard which is part of the Mercedes-Benz Classic work ethic. A standard based on the numerous company documents which also record the numerous model variants of the 500 series: A four-door sedan, different two-seater roadsters and open touring cars, cabriolet variants and an exquisite range of custom designs. Using original documents from the company's own archives and the technical expertise of the specialists at the Fellbach Classic Center, analyses of the vehicles and their conditions can be carried out for every vintage and classic Mercedes-Benz. An important requirement to prepare the historical Mercedes-Benz vehicles for the future.

Subaru Forester 2013

Subaru the Japanese manufacturer well known for its use of the boxer engine layout in most of its vehicles above 1500 cc as well as its use of the all wheel drive drive-train layout since 1972 . The punch line of  Subaru : “Confidence in motion”
Let we see that the Confidence in motion with new 2013 Subaru Forester. The Forester could be credited as the original formulator of the car-based crossover SUV. The United States Auto Club compare its All-wheel Drive System with the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V Real time 4WD, Toyota RAV4, and  Nissan Rogue Intuitive AWD and forester won the match . Watch this video clip below.

To recap, there are two Forester models: the 2.5i  , which gets a carry-over, 170-hp 2.5-liter flat-four, and the 2.0XT, which gets a new 250-hp turbocharged flat-four based on the BRZ’s naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine. The 2.5i comes in base, Premium, Limited, and Touring versions; the 2.0XT comes only in Premium or Touring guise. A six-speed manual is restricted to the 2.5i and 2.5i Premium and replaces a five-cog unit; all other Foresters get a CVT in place of the outgoing car’s four-speed automatic. We were set loose on paved and unpaved back roads in rural Arizona in a Forester 2.5i Premium manual, a 2.5i Touring, and a 2.0XT Premium.
the 2.5i’s all-new unit isn’t bad, and the way it oozes the Forester down the road while keeping engine revs low seems like a win for the average crossover shopper.
The 2.0XT’s turbo four is quick, and while no manual transmission is offered, the model at least offers three drive modes. Intelligent mode utilizes normal throttle and transmission responses for daily driving. Sport mode enlivens throttle response and offers six driver-selectable forward gear ratios when he uses the lever or steering-wheel paddles to actuate shifts. Sport Sharp further enlivens engine response and switches the CVT to a pseudo-eight-speed automatic; the eight fake gears are also selectable via lever or paddles.

SUBARU BOXER Engine. Flat. Smooth. Smart.

Drawn from a century of intelligent performance, the horizontal layout of the SUBARU BOXER engine combines balance with power and efficiency. And every Subaru comes with a SUBARU BOXER engine.

Horizontal Design

Like the jabs of a boxer, where the engine got its name, the SUBARU BOXER  layout allows the engine to be positioned in-line with the drivetrain for maximum transfer of power. Many other engines are transverse, or turned perpendicular, and can require additional drivetrain components to transfer power, reducing vehicle efficiency.
The punch-counterpunch movements of the boxer's pistons cancel out each other for a smoother running engine without having to use additional components to counteract them as in many in-line and V-type engines.

Low Profile

With pistons moving horizontally, the SUBARU BOXER  engine has a flat, low profile, almost perfectly symmetrical, for a well-balanced vehicle. Its low profile can provide a lower center of gravity than other designs, helping provide quick handling response and flat, confident cornering.
 Exterior Features

Ford Explorer Sport

Get In and Stand Out

The 2013 Explorer Sport delivers a premium driving experience. At first, it stops you in your tracks with its arresting good looks. But then Explorer Sport begs you to get going… bristling with powerful performance.Like the Flex EcoBoost, the Explorer Sport was designed to go after seven-passenger crossover shoppers who want more oomph for their daily slogs. Until now, this buyer had only Dodge’s manly, V-8–powered Durango R/T to consider as a souped-up seven-seat alternative. Renault Duster vs Mahindra XUV500 vs Skoda Yeti

Soft-roaders aren't exactly a new phenomenon. And we Indians love them big and brawny. Whether there's substance to all that show is a different thing altogether. As long as there's street-cred, we're a happy bunch. And this market is bursting at its seams. Look around; see how many pseudo off-roaders are doing the school run every morning, and you'll know we aren't kidding.

Now if your noodle is in place – and there's no reason why it shouldn't be – you'd be a bit daft as a manufacturer to not want a piece of the soft-roader pie. The latest entrant to this party is the Renault Duster and it's given us a great excuse to  gather its rivals – the Mahindra XUV 500 and the Skoda Yeti for a bit of a stand-off.

We were quite impressed with the Duster the last time around, but with the Yeti and the overbooked XUV 500 being quite the able sport utilities in their own right, we figured it was time to pitch them together to see which one of these softies really deserves school-run duty.
Let's begin with the Duster. It certainly has street presence, with all that chrome upfront. It looks good, certainly more manly than the other two.  Those boxy lines do its SUV image well. The XUV's cheetah-inspired design looks pretty good too especially in flesh. Some bits may make you think the designers went overboard, but the end result still warrants a second look.

Speaking of second looks, there's also the Skoda Yeti. It's been around for a while, it isn't exactly fresh but it doesn't look dated either.  At first, we thought it was a bit quirky. But the Yeti has grown on us and we now quite like the way it looks.Although their purpose may be the same, all three take different routes to get there. On the mechanical front, the lines start to get blurry.

The XUV gets a 2.2-litre engine good for 140bhp and 330Nm. It's the same mHawk powerplant from the Scorpio, only with 20 more horses and a six-speed 'box. It's quite refined as far as vibrations go, but mechanical clatter does make its presence felt. But once at speed, the noise isn't intrusive. Performance-wise, the XUV defies its weight, but that's only once you figure out how to extract its juice.

BMW 4 Series Coupe

The  BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept has unveiled , BMW is looking ahead to the fourth generation of its sporty mid-range coupe - and reasserting its global leadership credentials in the process.

Dream Wheels say’s

The BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept adds a new spices  to the qualities of the BMW 3-Series Coupe in terms of aesthetics, dynamics and elegance. The "4" doesn't just mark the start of a new cycle, it represents the zenith of a development curve. BMW has given the new model its own individual character and a standalone design - and, in so doing, has turned "4" into segment shorthand for aesthetic and dynamic appeal. The latest addition to a nomenclature that sees BMW building on the fine tradition of its large BMW 6-Series and BMW 8-Series Coupes, the "4" stands for greater sportiness, greater exclusivity and even clearer differentiation from the BMW 3-Series range. About looks the BMW 4- Series is fully loaded with  jaw dropping  style . It’s GANGSTER eyes  style headlamps has perfectly matched with its design . The two doors and body bumper enriched it’s
sportier looks.

The Design:

The BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept allows the driver to experience the essence of this new, sporting and elegant generation of car in the lap of contemporary luxury. An array of high-quality details provide an exclusive showcase for the car's perfectly balanced coupe proportions. Inside, the expertise of BMW Individual, skilled handcraftsmanship and carefully selected materials combine to create a supreme interior. The role of BMW Individual in the BMW 4-Series Coupe Concept's development clearly underlines the brand's commitment to challenging itself constantly in pursuit of perfection.
These first official pictures show the new two-door to be a muscular and broad-shouldered design draped over a wide-stance platform.
BMW has released the key dimensions for the concept, which are expected to be carried over to the production car with very little change. They include a 2810mm wheelbase that it shares with the 3-series saloon.
At 4641mm long, 1826mm wide and 1326mm high, the new concept is 17mm longer than the saloon, 15mm wider and a significant 67mm lower, a dimension that emphasises the two-door’s sportier footprint.
The front and rear tracks reflect the squat look, too. At 1545mm, the front is 3mm wider than the saloon and the 1593mm rear is 10mm wider.
Despite the brief for a sportier, more individual look, designers have crafted bodywork that broadly follows the theme of the 3-series saloon, with a distinctive swage line running along the bodyside and linking the front and rear haunches by running through the door handles.
Where the 4-series concept asserts its identity is in the execution of the swage line, which takes a sharper, more aggressive form and mirrors the more pronounced sill cover. The wheel arches of the 4-series concept bulge more aggressively than those of the four-door. These body adornments also lend BMW’s smaller coupé a more aggressive look than its bigger brother, the 6-series.
At the front, the family resemblance to the saloon is carried through, with headlights that link into the hallmark kidney grille. The grille itself is made more prominent by protruding more aggressively from the surrounding sheet metal.
“The front end displays a clear link with the 3-series family, but with a sporting take on the theme with precise contours and multi-faceted surfaces,” says BMW.
The execution of the intersection of the grille and headlamps is sportier thanks to the narrower lamp units built around on-trend ‘squircle’ projector lamps.
Underpinning the front is a gaping front air dam that extends the full width of the nose. The production coupé is tipped to have a more toned-down airdam, although elements of this design may influence the forthcoming M4.
Another departure for BMW is the hockey-stick-shaped decoration on the front wings, behind the wheel arches. Some sort of adornment will appear on the production 4-series, but how close its design will be to this feature is unclear.
The interior is based closely on the 3-series saloon’s and, ignoring the concept car decoration in this design study, appears to be directly carried over.
The instrument pack, minor switchgear and instrument panel’s upper moulding, for example, mimic the 3-series saloon, with its high-mounted infotainment screen. Likewise, the radio and air-con modules in the centre console are carried over from the saloon.
BMW hasn’t released any chassis or engine information with the concept. But our sources say that the production 4-series will feature engines selected from the saloon range and mirror the bulk of the line-up in today’s 3-series coupé.
Today’s global best-seller is the 320d, which will morph into the 420d. Seven further engines are likely to result in a 418i, 420i, 428i and 435i petrol line-up and 425d, 430d, 435d diesels. The long-awaited M4 is also a key 4-series variant.
Chassis settings are tipped to be firmer than the saloon’s to further establish the 4-series as a separate model.
